Situated in the core of historic downtown Deseronto, Ontario, The O’Connor House English Tea and Bistro provides a selection of delectable meals and sweets to experience in our Victorian dining room - from homemade soups and breads, enjoyable lunches and dinners, to delightful desserts and the finest Devonshire scones in the area. Come in and sample your English origins!

The O’Connor House is the ideal place to let go and let time float on by for a little while over a perfect cup of tea. Tasty food, lace curtains, linen tablecloths, fine china and silver and stemware are all ingredients you’ll find here. We go a long way to provide our guests with nostalgic amenities and style, simple reminders of days gone by.

Our luncheon menu offers homemade soups, fresh salads, deli sandwiches, lighter choices like Quiche Florentine, and old English favourites like shepherd’s pie and a ploughman’s lunch. Open for dinner on Friday evenings we feature live entertainment with a special menu of traditional home favourites: baked ham with homemade beans and scalloped potatoes, stuffed pork tenderloin, poached salmon, and others. And for dessert?!? Our confections are all prepared from scratch in our kitchen and range from seasonal fruit pies to our own decadent bread pudding and "Too Good to be True" English sticky toffee pudding. Celebrate your special event or catch up with a good friend over Afternoon Tea in The O’Connor House dining room. Tea, served from 2pm to close, is freshly prepared and turned out on beautiful double or triple tiered serving plates and includes a medley of savory goodies, scones, preserves, real whipped cream, sweets, and, of course, your choice from a large selection of teas. Join us for Sunday Brunch and enjoy delectable preparations like scrambled eggs and old cheddar on a croissant or a full English Breakfast with all the trimmings.
